A friend at work recently told me he has some bees for sale. I was stunned. I had never considered the prospect of there being a realistic market for bees. I guess I was wrong.
The more he told me about bees for sale and bee keeping as a hobby or commercial venture, the more interested I became.
Who would have thought that the humble little honey bee could stir such interest and, for that matter, demand such a worldwide following!
I wonder how much bees for sale cost? How easy is it to come by a bee suit or bee supplies? I wonder if people even have bee hives for sale? Maybe I could be up and running as a bee keeper as early as next weekend?
I’m going to investigate and further develop my new found interest in bee keeping and bees for sale. You can follow my journey right here on this blog!

Buying Bees
Though there is no multitude of reasons why people should rear bees, a couple is enough to know that this hobby or business generally is a good way to generate income. These two reasons are related to the natural capabilities of these buzzing insects. Some bees are used for honey making; these are the species of honey bees. Other people sell their expert services by using the bees’ natural talent: pollinating. The professional beekeepers offer their facilitation of using the insects to aid in the fast reproduction of the agriculturists’ crops.
If you suddenly become interested in taking care of colonies of these busy fellows, you may either do first a personal inspection of any bees for sale in farms, or do the search online and find a great number of sellers. When you are inspecting the bees, make certain that you go after a hive with a large army of bees in the boxes.
Before you perform your examination, create a list that will guide you on what other aspects to check when assessing bees for sale. Make sure that you find a good number of pollen and brood. If you are in search of honey bees, finding some honey is important. Usually, it is advised that a beginner work with a swarm of over 12,000 bees, in which the majority of these are the workers while the rest are drones. A good colony can have twice as many bees, and a strong hive can have up to 50,000 worker bees. This difference in number of the bees, along with other variables such as the condition of the boxes and delivery specifications, should obviously affect the price.
Beekeeping is not a simple and cheap investment; this is what every novice should understand. Apart from the bees, there are other things to worry about such as the boxes, the frames, protective suits and other relevant devices. However, they need not to worry because when their venture becomes successful, they will absolutely generate a good income. So when you become interested in bees for sale, begin with inspection followed closely by preparation.
